I knew something was up with Angelina Jolie.  Designing jewelry for Asprey, the collection of gold jewelry and silver accessories is called The Protector.  Obviously inspired by those in the wizarding world known as SYLTHERIN.   As inspirational Jolie is to everyone in the world, I couldnt help but picturing her as headmistress of Syltherin in her green robes, Snape-like hair and fully equip with parsel-tongue (the ability to speak with snakes).  Not far from being a Death Eater, she seems to be collecting the last jewels of Salazar Syltherin that have been lost for centuries.

“Veritas Aequitas”

(Truth & Justice/Fairness)

For the fans who did not hear or did not have a chance to see Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, I am here to  inform you…that you have one last chance at redemption. As of November 25, 2009, Boondock Saints II is going into national release!  After funding issues and one hold up after another, Troy Duffy and the original Boondock Saints cast made the last 10 years well worth the wait.

A priest is killed in Boston and brothers, Connor MacManus (Sean Patrick Flanery) and Murphy MacManus (Norman Reedus), are framed for the murder.  To clear their names and serve up justice Boondock Saints style, they are forced to come out of hiding after living with their father in Ireland for the past 8 years.  Since their sidekick Rocco aka “The Funny Man” (David Della Rocco) was killed in the first movie, to complete their trinity, they befriended a Rocco-equivalent Mexican by the name of Romeo (Clifton Collins Jr).  The FBI agent to step into Paul Smecker’s (William DaFoe) role is Eunice Bloom (Julie Benz).  Although hard shoes to fill, Benz does an impeccable job acting and interpreting Smecker’s idiosyncrasies.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day Official Trailer

If you are a fan of Boondock Saints, you will appreciate not only the original cast coming back for the sequel, but everything that made the first one great.  The prayer, the witty dialogues, the over the top crime scene explanations, everyones favorite neighborhood Irish arms dealer, the friendly/cursing/stuttering bar tender, epic gun fights and that confounded, stupid rope!!  There is also a special surprise at the end which was uncredited but momentous!

By staying true to everything they are about, Duffy is creating a masterpiece which hopefully involves a third movie.  It’s unfortunate these films do not get the credit they deserve in the mainstream world.  Boondock Saints I & II  are completely original in thought and execution.  They arent superheroes, but they are the hope that is devoted to wiping out evil and corruption and “[they] will send you to whatever God, you wish.”

“A thank you message to the fans from writer/director Troy Duffy and the two stars of Boondock Saints II, Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery.” (11.25.09)

Twilight Saga: New Moon – Epic Comeback November 28, 2009

oh the wonders of young monster/human love triangles.  human meets vampire, vampire leaves human, human ends up with werewolf, and vampire comes back.

Something magnificent happened come this New Moon, it was actually really good.  I am a fan of the Twilight books, but when I first saw Twilight, the movie, I was not sold.  I thought it was too corny and tried too hard to appease the fans.  By direct quoting, keeping everything so dark and the chemistry of the characters wasnt there.

New Moon successfully developed a strong relationship between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner), which they failed to do so with Edward (Robert Pattinson) in Twilight.  The human emotions of friendship and the light-hearted wolf pack all interacted so nicely together, yet there is still this awkwardness when Edward was around.  Honestly, Stewart acts better when shes in scenes with Lautner.  It feels more natural since she doesnt have to worship the ground he walks on.

Unfortunately, the wolf pack didnt get a lot of action as much as the Cullens did in Twilight.  Hopefully they develop the families more come Eclipse (release: June 30, 2010).  The Volturi are everything you would have hoped them to be, civilized, cunning, and deadly.  From Aro to Jane, they casted a superb group of actors and actress. (*spoiler) It also doesnt hurt when they give a glimpse of Bella when she’s all vampired out.

I still dont like Stewart as Bella, but it is what it is at this point.  She still does that annoying lip biting thing.  After that video CollegeHumor put together, I couldnt help but notice if she stopped that annoying habit, sorry to say, she didnt – and Lautner started to do it too.

New Moon is the better of the two movies so far.  I liked the screenplay, it kept true to the major points of the book and Chris Weitz (Director) was still able to make it his own.  Regardless of the bad reviews, Weitz stated via ExtraTV, “What I’ve realized over the last week is I won’t necessarily get good reviews for this movie. Having swallowed that, this was made for the fans, and if you don’t get it, then you don’t get it.”

Oh, we get it Weitz!  Thank you for making this installation possible and helping me believe in the Twilight Movie Saga again!

so yea, i guess what peta is trying to do is cool, but being a human who takes their clothes off since she is neither vampire or werewolf is kind of pathetic.  this screams “i wish i was offered the role of a cullen or a quilete. sad face, cry cry.” maybe next time angela.

oh, what was that?  Team Human? ha ha, so funny.  if anything, i vote Team ERIC.

*this is not an official advertisement, i just found this at hot topic and i thought it was rad.  youre still with fan-[girl]-atic! ;D

CONTROL BLOODLUST NOW!

Vampires rejoice!  No more night stalking, no more messy clean ups, no more worrying about raising and training newborns.  Blood Energy Potions is the newest caffeinated energy drink now available to vampires and humans everywhere.

As the creators of Blood Energy Potions points out, bloodlust can never be cured, but they are taking positive steps towards being able to manage this common side effect.  Think about how much time and effort you could be saving.  Instead of hiding in dark corners waiting for that special someone (or animals, for vegetarians), you could be living the undead life to the fullest!  With its basic blood necessities, realistic synthetic thickness, and four hours of pure energy, how could any real vampire resist?  Even though its made by humans, this is a new millenium and vampires who arent trying it are stuck in the dark ages!

Humans who are brave enough to consume Blood Energy Potion get a source of electrolytes, iron, protein, energy, and yum yum – it tastes like fruit punch!  Fangs are not necessarily needed to open this pouch.  The creators were smart enough to attach a twist off cap for those who actually need to use their fingers.  Also, dont be scared of the bloody finger prints on the packaging, vampires have to go shopping too.  And just in case, its synthetic blood, not the REAL thing.

Next time youre starting to feel the need to feed, warm up one of these babies, slurp it down and live it up until the break of dawn!

Cosplay Crazy! November 17, 2009

It takes a certain kind of person to take time out of their lives to dress as their favorite character.  May it be anime, manga, tv/film or gaming characters, the people who dedicate themselves to building their own representations of these characters should be commended.  They allow everyday people to be a part of their world at conventions, parties or even every day living.

Cosplay, costume play, is nothing new.  I have been to anime, sci fi, and comic cons, and the anticipation of this elite class is always something to look forward too.  Cosplay does not just end at the actual costume, but mannerisms, signature poses and attitude are all integrated to pull off the perfect representation.  There are often contests and games designed specifically for Cosplayers such as: Cosplay Game Shows, Trivia, Masquerades and a platform to produce and act out your own skits for fellow con-goers.

Even if Naruto is already somewhat played, seeing a group of kids who have banned together to create the whole cast is always great to see.  Which brings me to another point, COSPLAYERS are AWESOME people.  They are more than willing to pose for photos and have a chat, they dont show up dressed like that to hide in a corner!

If its your first time or the 11th time at a con, they can inspire you to dress up for the next one!  They are a creative and dedicated people and “ooh can i take a picture of you??”

Want to show off your cosplay skills but dont know where?
